Dental Implant

At Platinum Dental Studio, our experienced dentists offer premium quality dental implants – a permanent restorative option for missing teeth

Dental implants are a fixed solution to missing teeth. The finished results are long lasting and feel and look just like a normal tooth. While there are other procedures to replace missing teeth, dental implants are an excellent durable option.

What is an implant?

Dental implants are screw-like metal posts, usually made of titanium that are surgically placed into the jawbone to replace missing teeth. They are then left for between two and six months so the bone can grow around the implant.

Because dental implants fuse to your bone, they feel comfortable and natural and won’t slip or move around in your mouth.

 Single Implant

A single implant is a traditional implant that is used when a single tooth is missing

Implant supported fixed crowns and bridges

Implant supported crowns and bridges are similar to traditional crowns and bridges, with the difference being that rather than using surrounding teeth to support the structures. the strength and stability of an implant is used

Implant supported removable dentures

Unlike normal dentures resting solely on the gum, implant retained dentures rest on 2-4 implants and are therefore less likely to move around the mouth

FAQs

If you have missing teeth, one of the requirements for you to have a dental implant fitted is that your mouth is in good health. Meaning that you have a healthy sufficient bone to support the implant and no gum disease.   Your dentist will do a comprehensive examination and X rays investigations to come up with different restorative options with the best possible outcomes, depending on the existing conditions.

Your dental implant recovery time and side effects will depend on many factors, including the number of implants, your dental health, and length of the surgery. You may experience some swelling and discomfort following the procedure and you may find it difficult to chew for several days after surgery. These symptoms should subside in around 5-7 days.
