What are root canals and when are they needed?
Root canal is a dental procedure that replaces a tooth’s damaged or infected pulp with a filling. Dental pulp is the inner part of the tooth that consists of nerves and blood vessels.
A diseased tooth pulp may cause inflammation or infection that can spread or cause loss of tooth. The symptoms of a damaged or diseased tooth pulp may include:

- Pain when biting or chewing
- Swelling of the gum near affected tooth
- Loosening of the tooth
